Founding of Vandenbulcke

In 1949 confiserie Vandenbulcke NV was founded by Mr. André Vandenbulcke and Olga Vandeweege. The focus of the company then was on the purchase and sale of confectionery products such as candy, chocolate and cookies.

Start own truffle production

Due to the cancellation of a supplier of chocolate truffles,
it was decided to manufacture the truffles ourselves.

Product range expansion

In 1972, the assortment was further expanded to include in-house produced pralines, seashells and other chocolate products led by master chocolatier Philippe Vandenbulcke.

 

 

 

Start export

With Marc Vandenbulcke the export of products to foreign markets starts.

Further expansion in retail

In 1980, Vandenbulcke set foot at several retailers in Belgium.

Export and further expansion

In 1985 Vandenbulcke starts the export of chocolate to foreign countries, and additional storage capacity was built for finished products.

New shape line

In 1994, a new moulding line was acquired for the production of chocolates.

Purchase of a new moulding line for sea shells.

 

 

 

 

Solar panels

In 2011, Vandenbulcke installed 800 solar panels, which account for more than 30% of our energy consumption.

Renovation offices and store

In 2013 our offices and our store get a make over for a better work environment and a more pleasant shopping experience.

 

 

Fastest growing Belgian SME

According to Laureate Trends Gazelle,
Vandenbulcke became one of the fastest growing Belgian SMEs in 2014.

Petit Melo productiehal

In 2018, a new production hall and new high-tech machines were built for the production of our Petit Melo.

Silver medal ISM

In 2020 our Petit Melo became second at ISM Cologne.
